The Beastie Boys, Nicki Minaj and Post Malone are among the artists that have recently released NFTs on their own platforms. Now, Eminem is joining them by launching his own tokens next month. The first drop took place on May 6, and it will feature six NFTs which are linked to “Slim Shady”.

Eminem is set to join the list of NFT stars by launching his own tokens next month. The rapper, songwriter and record producer has been one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 200 million albums sold worldwide. He has won 13 Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for his hit film 8 Mile. Eminem also created his own clothing line D12 Clothing Co., which has since been renamed as D12 Apparel Company after a dispute with a clothing brand called Detroit 12 Clothing Co.
Each of the six NFTs has its own unique artwork. The prints were created by the artist Daniel Arsham in collaboration with Shady Records, Eminem’s record label. Each print was inspired by a track from Eminem’s album Revival: “Kill For You” (which features Joyner Lucas), “Venom” (with Kendrick Lamar), “Walk On Water” (with Beyonce), “Criminal”, “Greatest” (featuring Ed Sheeran) and “Berzerk”.
Robert Bape, one of Eminem’s collaborators, designed one of the works.
Robert Bape, one of Eminem’s collaborators, designed one of the works. Bape is a fashion designer who has worked with Eminem before. He and several other artists will attend the event in person to sign copies of the artworks, which will be sold at auction during Art Basel Miami Beach.
People who buy Eminem’s NFT artworks are usually longtime Shady fans who have been following his career since the beginning. They want to be part of a special club, and they’re often willing to spend a lot more than they would on other pieces. The NFT art drop allows celebrities like Eminem to connect with fans, earn money, get attention, and promote themselves. People can also use their artwork as an investment; there might be some value in the future if the artist becomes famous enough that his work becomes collectible (or if he dies).
Our first impression of Eminem NFT art is that it’s a great idea, especially considering how popular he is. We think the drop will be a success, and we hope that more artists follow suit with their own drops in the future!
