However, if you’ve ever wanted to make your own emotes and show off your creativity on the platform, keep reading! In this article we’ll walk through the process of creating your own Twitch emotes step by step.
Go to the Twitch website and log in.
Log in to your Twitch account. Go to twitch.tv, and log in with your username and password.
Go to the Dashboard. Once logged in, you’ll be taken straight to the dashboard page on Twitch: your homepage! You should see some of these options at the top of your screen:
- Streams (the most recent livestreams)
- Alerts (alerts about new videos or streams)
- Videos (your own videos)
- Subscriber Hub (your channel’s community hub)
At the bottom, there’s also an option for “Options” which lets you customize how this page looks and feels by choosing things like whether it shows video thumbnails or not. For our purposes today though all we care about is going down below this option field so we have access to everything else too! To do that click on “Profile Picture” which appears just above these chat windows; then choose “Dashboard” from its dropdown menu when prompted by clicking again on said picture icon once more!
Click on the profile picture in the upper right corner, and choose the “Dashboard” option from the dropdown menu.

You can make emotes in your dashboard. The steps are as follows:
- Click the “Create Emote” button at the top of your page.
- Enter a name for your new emote and add an image (you can upload an image from your computer or use a photo from Google Images).
- In the “Color” section, choose one of our color presets or customize it to match your brand’s colors by entering hexadecimal values for red, green and blue (e.g., #FF00FF). For example, if you want purple emojis, set all three values to 255. You can also adjust brightness here by changing their percentage values—typically between 30% and 70%.
- Under “Icon” type in what kind of icon you’d like to use for this emote; select from Google Images or upload an image from your computer by clicking on “Upload Image.”
