PUMA, the global sportswear brand, is launching a new NFT collection called “Super Puma” to mark the company’s 75th anniversary. The collection is inspired by the Super PUMA comics, first published in the 1970s, and features iconic designs from Puma’s sporting events over the past 75 years.
The Super Puma NFT collection will offer a range of benefits and experiences, including tokenized access to premium goods and a direct link to Puma’s legendary designs. The NFTs will be used across various PUMA products and initiatives, such as apparel, plush toys, and comic books.
PUMA’s Chief Brand Officer, Adam Petrick, said in a statement, “Puma’s growing Web3 community played an important role in the launch of this new project. We listened to what our community wanted, and the Super PUMA PFP NFT is the result of that. It’s a great project to kick off our 75th anniversary as an expression of our brand mantra – Forever Faster – leaning on our history and heritage to push sport and culture forward through design and innovation.”
Access to the Super Puma NFT collection is first come, first served for owners of the Nitro Collection NFTs. These owners will be able to obtain the Super Puma PFPs in proportion to the number of Nitro NFTs they own. In total, 10,000 units of the Super Puma collection will be available, with 4,000 to be airdropped in late February to Nitro Collection NFT owners, 2,000 for the 10KTF Community, and 4,000 available for general purchase through waiting list spots.
Puma’s move into the NFT space comes after it changed its Twitter name to Puma.eth after buying the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain. Last September, PUMA unveiled its first-ever metaverse experience, called ‘Black Station,’ during New York Fashion Week.
With Super Puma, PUMA continues to showcase its dedication to innovation and creativity. This new collection not only celebrates the company’s heritage but also reinforces its position as a leader in the sportswear industry. The Super Puma NFTs offer enthusiasts access to exclusive benefits and iconic designs while engaging them with Puma’s athletic history.
Puma isn’t the only business taking advantage of the excitement around the NFT space right now. There is a sudden influx of companies seeking to enter this new and exciting space, with many looking to capitalize with creating highly valuable NFTs.
The NFT market is still in its early stages, but as more companies begin to enter the space with their own unique offerings, it’s expected that we’ll see a significant influx of new users. This will create another wave of excitement around blockchain and cryptocurrencies, which could lead to even more mainstream adoption.
