We’re at the dawn of a new era in online gaming. Playable games on the blockchain are finally coming into their own, and there are some truly amazing ones out there to try. Here’s a list of free MMORPGs that you can play right now!
Ember Sword
Ember Sword is a social sandbox MMORPG set in a player-driven universe full of adventure. Ember Sword, created by a creative team of artists, engineers, and game designers, offers a one-of-a-kind community-led and frictionless PvP and PVE player experience, as well as true ownership of digital gaming assets.
Players can share their adventures with each other and learn from one another. They do so by battling monsters, bosses, or other players as a way to prove their worth.
You can choose to become a peaceful collector of goods and objects or travel the world as a warrior adventurer. It’s entirely up to you: each weapon type has its own skill, as do other RPG elements such as crafting.
Blankos Block Party
With the Blankos Block Party, you can create your own one-of-a kind experience! This game has an increasing number of different modes as well as the ability to build and share levels based on objectives set by users around the world.
Players can also create their own levels and explore an overworld created by the developers, complete with quests and objectives. Blankos Block Party has been in beta for several months; it just transitioned into early access.
Farsite Online
Farsite Online is an MMORTS game that goes beyond other games of its kind by allowing players to produce goods and services from raw materials found in the game world, then sell them in a free market.
Farsite has each game item as an NFT created by a player and tradeable on the open market. Farsite Online will have plenty to do for those who enjoy obtaining resources, even if it means risking their lives, with nine different classes to choose from, mining, crafting, and base building.
Farsite Online uses blockchain technology in three layers of its infrastructure. Ethereum smart contracts secure the ownership of in-game items, FAR Tokens and other assets. The MATIC sidechain allows players to conduct instant transactions at no cost by hosting their virtual wallets on it.
All new players will get a virtual wallet, but having the ability to store your items on another virtual wallet provides additional security.
War Riders
War Riders are proud to be the first MMO in which you can earn cryptocurrency by blowing up cars. Despite facing some formidable foes, your objectives in War Riders are straightforward. You must mine Benzene, defend against rival wastelanders, and eventually build out and outfit their car garage.
Because War Riders use an Ethereum-based item system, items can be traded on sites such as OpenSea. Players must collect Benzene (BNZ) tokens throughout the wasteland and use them to buy guns, and ammo or build and upgrade garages.
To begin playing War Riders, players must first purchase a vehicle, but all vehicles can be traded in (and out of) the marketplace. Whether you want to rent out your garage to new players for protection, or take to the wasteland and destroy anyone who tries to steal your BNZ, the choice is yours.
Infinite Fleet
Infinite Fleet is a new sci-fi strategy MMO in development in which players will build and customize their own fleet and battle the Atrox aliens. Combat, mining, and progression are all part of the larger game loop, which will allow players to interact and cooperate with other players on a massive scale.
Infinite Fleet does not use blockchain in the core game, but their virtual currency INF is a crypto-asset that can be used to purchase virtual items both in and out of the game. To keep a record of transactional history, virtual items will also be transacted via blockchain as NFTs. In-game events and missions will allow players to earn INF tokens. They can then store INF in their own cryptocurrency wallets and conduct transactions with other players outside of the game. Infinite Fleet runs INF on the Liquid Network, a sidechain of the Bitcoin blockchain, and will be supported by any crypto-wallet that supports Bitcoin and the Liquid Network.
You can earn crypto as you play these games
A lot of games offer the option to earn crypto as you play. You can use this crypto to buy items in the game, or other games and items on the blockchain. It’s like having your own little money factory that generates income for you whenever you’re not using it.
